The journey today began at 8:00 AM at Udon Thani Airport. When the plane landed and brought me to Udon Thani, I couldn’t contain my excitement because today I would fully experience the charm of Udon Thani. Afterward, I met the VIP van that would take me to various destinations around the city.

Red Lotus Lake: A Beautiful View of the Lotus Fields
After about an hour of travel, we arrived at “Red Lotus Lake” in Nong Han National Park. The vast and beautiful red lotus fields filled me with awe. I must say that the best time to visit is from December to February, when the lake is full of blooming pink red lotuses floating on the green water. I took a boat ride to enjoy the view of the Red Lotus Lake and the surrounding nature. There were so many red lotuses, and it was such a peaceful and relaxing experience. The clear sky and the cool breeze felt like stepping into a world of tranquility.

At lunchtime, we traveled to “Miew & Vintage Noodles,” a restaurant with a charming vintage atmosphere. It felt like stepping back in time, with warmth and charm in every corner. The must-try dishes here are the rich and spicy Tom Yum noodles and the savory boat noodles that are flavorful in every bite. Each bite added to the joy and satisfaction of this trip.

After lunch, we headed to “Kham Chanot,” a sacred place with legends about the Naga that I’ve heard since childhood. There is an island in the middle of the water, and walking into the surrounding dense forest made me feel the mystery and sacred power of the place. I entered the Kham Chanod Shrine, prayed, and asked for blessings with deep faith and respect for this place. It was an unforgettable experience.
After Kham Chanot, we headed to “Lao Luang Village,” a well-known cotton weaving village. In the peaceful atmosphere of the village, I witnessed the process of weaving cotton using natural materials and dyes from local plants. The cotton fabric here is delicate and makes a perfect souvenir to bring home. It is not only beautiful but also reflects the lifestyle and culture of the local people.

In the evening, we visited “Phothisomphan Temple,” a temple with a beautiful ubosot and stunning architecture. As I entered the temple, the tranquility and cool air made me feel completely relaxed. I spent only a few minutes there, but left with a full sense of energy and peace. Paying respects to the Buddha and meditating in such a serene atmosphere made my heart feel lighter in a way I could hardly believe.
After this trip filled with unforgettable moments, we returned to Udon Thani Airport at 6:20 PM. My heart was filled with happiness and memories from the attractions I visited, the beautiful nature, and the culture I had never seen before. This trip made me feel even more connected to the Isaan region, and I didn’t feel tired at all because every moment of the journey was filled with wonderful experiences.
